How it works
Grid-tied: all generated is exported, all used is imported.
  1. The PV modules convert sunlight into electricity. In a grid-tied PV system, all solar electricity is exported to the grid at a fixed rate of Rs 4.20 per unit (kWh). An export meter will be installed by the CEB to measure the amount of electricity exported.
  2. The house will continue to import electricity independently of the grid-tied PV system. Electricity will be purchased at the fixed tariffs set by the CEB for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

How it works
Grid-tied: all generated is exported, all used is imported.
  1. The PV modules convert sunlight into electricity, which is used to power electrical appliances directly. When solar production exceeds electricity consumption, the surplus is stored in the battery system. If the battery becomes fully charged, the PV production will be adjusted downwards (or upwards) to meet the household's electricity demand.
  2. When the house’s electricity consumption exceeds production, such as during periods of low sunlight or at night, electricity from the battery will power the appliances. Throughout the night, the battery will gradually deplete until the next morning. If the battery's charge drops to 20% of its capacity, it will cease supplying electricity, and the house will draw power from the grid.
  3. Electricity will be drawn from the grid only when the battery’s charge falls below 20% of its capacity or when the house’s simultaneous energy demand exceeds the battery’s maximum discharge capacity.
  4. The maximum loads that can be operated simultaneously will depend on the capacity of the inverter. For example, a 5kW inverter can support a maximum simultaneous load of 5kW.
